The leadership question nobody asks

I work with leaders in different industries, with different tenure and different skill sets. One common trend exists through them all…each has leadership failures on a regular basis.

Why?

Because people are emotional beings, workloads are always shifting, and stress is ever-fluctuating. We have good days and bad days, read situations correctly and incorrectly, sometimes get it right and other times get it wrong.

Instead of beating yourself up or sticking your head in the sand, look at these as opportunities to learn.

How?

Regularly ask yourself: "What's my greatest leadership failure in the last 2 weeks?"

This simple reflection prompt may open the door to:

  • Crafting a new strategy for the next time you encounter this scenario

  • Repairing something that was handled poorly

  • Considering things from the other person's perspective

  • Processing emotions so you can regain a level head

Overall, it will improve your understanding. And with self-awareness being the #1 predictor of executive success (according to a study at Cornell University), this regular practice will improve your soft skills and leadership ability.

Unsure how to do this on your own? Reach out for a complimentary coaching session.

Yes, seriously...we can have a one-time coaching call on the house. It's just you and me, in a safe, trusted space, accelerating your path through the challenges you face.
