Your comfort is causing problems

I remember hearing Leila Hormozi say something to the effect of, If you’re comfortable in business, you’re moving backward. I’ve chewed on it for a while because like all things…there are interpretations inside of this to define.
Business moves fast, and so is life these days and there are three distinct places we can play. Some of which are healthier than others.
We have our comfort zone. This is where things are familiar and predictable, and we’re not exerting much effort…and likely not getting much of a reward. We can go through the motions here and sustain this for a long time. However, the world is moving at a faster pace than you are here and this is where a business can be left behind.
Next is the discomfort zone. This is where things are a mess…because everything is coming at you WAY too fast and you’re burning the candle at both ends trying to keep up. The pace here is actually a detriment, the infrastructure is inadequate and something needs to be done FAST. You can’t hang out here for long without something breaking in the business or yourself.
The growth zone. This is the magical edge that’s beautiful to find as a business owner and inside your own life. You’re being challenged, you’re innovating, overcoming challenges, and enjoying the fruits of your labor. You’re comfortable with the discomforts of the growth you’re facing and with each thing you overcome confidence grows.
The third place - the growth zone - I believe is the place Leila is talking about.
