You don't need a crisis to take a day

Last November, in a room overlooking West Grand Traverse Bay, a group of professional women worked through a long list of boundaries that are commonly a struggle to hold.
One attendee read the list and found only four that still applied to her. Years of her quiet, unglamorous work showed us all that protecting boundaries was possible.
Another looked up from the same list and asked, "You mean people don't struggle with this?" She was mostly talking to herself. Right there in the room, a brand-new thought arrived: what would life be like if these things weren't a struggle?
Two light bulb moments in opposite directions at last year's Out of Office Retreat in Traverse City.
That's what claiming a day just for yourself does. It gives you the insights you didn't know you needed. I wonder what might be waiting for you?
This year's Out of Office Friday in conjunction with NMC's Extended Education program is a Modern Midlife Reset. It's for the professional woman whose body and mind are changing, who finally has a little more space in her schedule and keeps forgetting to put herself in it.
It will be back at Lobdell's on November 20th, the Friday before Thanksgiving. It includes meals overlooking the lake, workshops on energy and boundaries, and a conversation about perimenopause with Dr. Tina Metropoulos. Space is capped at 25.
You don't need to be in crisis to come. Consider it the gift you keep meaning to give yourself.
And if a woman came to mind while you were reading, the one who never puts herself on her own calendar, send her the link to this blog post.
In this with you!
